HEALTHCARE RESEARCH UTILIZATION, EVALUATION, AND
QUALITY ASSURANCE

In a 6- to 8-slide PowerPoint presentation, complete with speaker’s notes, continue
the work that will result in your finished presentation for the Board of Directors.

In this module’s presentation, discuss quality management tools and applications
that the leaders at Holyoke Soldiers’ Home could have used to improve patient and
employee safety. Explain the importance of these quality management tools and
applications, both during and outside of a pandemic. In addition to the tools you
identify, research SBAR (Situation, Background, Assessment and Recommendation)
and PDSA (Plan-Do-Study-Act), and recommend one of these quality tools for the
Soldiers’ Home. Explain the rationale of your recommendation.

Note: At this point, your PowerPoint presentation should be at least 18-24 slides, not
including your title or reference slides. You should have 6-8 references as well.

1. Conduct additional research to gather sufficient information to justify/support your
strategic plan.

2. Limit your response to a maximum of 8 slides (title and reference slides are not
included in page number count).

3. Support your report with peer-reviewed articles, using at least 2-3 references. Use
